When they approached The People Pod to discuss their vision for new departments across the group, we were super excited to find out more.
The Challenge
Gorilla Accounting, part of the Seneca group developed an incredible business model destined for success. To fuel that success, they required proven candidates to be the foundation for this high growth strategy to build upon. These candidates would be the face of the business and the benchmark for future hires, so it was crucial that we sourced candidates with stretch to move onto bigger roles with time.
There is a distinct culture fit within accountancy practices, yet Gorilla Accounting planned to flip the traditional accountancy stigma into a more modern, hassle free, tech driven culture. They required candidates that embraced this culture and whole heartedly bought into this ethos.
Their Internal resourcing teams were also stretched at this time and needed support to bridge this gap and help them upscale in time.
The Approach
After meeting all key department heads, we got to work on our recruitment campaign to attract suitable candidates for Gorilla. Most traditional accountancy practices would hire purely on skillset, yet Gorilla isn’t like most accountancy firms.
So, throughout our screening and interviewing process we made sure we focused just as much on the candidate’s skillset as we did on the culture fit and their ability to develop too. Effectively we targeted candidates bigger than the existing roles so their career would scale inline with the planned expansion.
